NEW KAPPORET CHRISTIAN HELPLINE - FREEPHONE UK - CONFIDENTIAL - LISTENING - PRAYER
Our first Director, Tim Harding, describes what it means to be a Listener with New Kapporet.
If you share our Christian faith and feel called to help your brothers and sisters in this way, you are really welcome to join our family of
AS A LISTENER, YOU WILL TAKE CALLS FROM HOME
All you need is a landline or mobile, online access for training and communication, and 2 hours each week that you are willing to share with those in need.
You will receive comprehensive listener preparation online.
In our listener preparation programme we cover all aspects of Christian listening, including how to listen effectively, how to respond to emotional distress, how to safeguard children and vulnerable adults, and how to handle the most difficult and sensitive calls. In each module, great emphasis is given to how the listener can create space for the caller to encounter Jesus in their particular situation. You will also have access to continuous development opportunities.
You will login in to a virtual call centre to access calls.
You can sign up for watches (i.e. shifts) at times convenient to you. During your watch, you will have continuous access to an experienced watch leader for advice, assistance and prayer support. Before and after each watch, you will meet online with your fellow listeners and the watch leader for a short time of prayer, in recognition of the Lord's involvement in all we do.
You will always feel well supported and cared for.

If you don't feel you could be a listener with us, but would like to support our Ministry by becoming a Prayer Partner, we would love you to join us. Every week our Prayer Partners receive a list of prayer requests. They pray for our callers and our listening team and are an integral and important part of our Ministry.
