Christian Helpline Services

Jesus Christ is at the heart of New Kapporet and the services we offer. We explicitly invite Him into the operations of New Kapporet, and listen to Him attentively during each interaction with callers and emailers.

Matthew 11:28 says "Come to me all you who are weary and overburdened and I will give you rest".   Jesus invites each of us personally to reach out to Him (Matthew 5:1-11), especially:

  • The poor in spirit
The poor, homeless and under-privileged, those suffering from poor physical or mental health, those disadvantaged by birth, upbringing or location, and those who struggle spiritually.

  • The gentle
Those who experience physical or mental abuse, violence or cruelty and who try to respond with love and compassion.

  • Those who mourn
Those who suffer from separation, isolation or the loss of loved ones, those who mourn the moral, environmental and spiritual decline of a world separated from God, and especially those who mourn the loss of a close relationship to God.

  • Those who hunger and thirst for righteousness
Those suffering from addiction to drugs, alcohol, gambling or other cravings and who strive, sometimes unsuccessfully, to overcome them.

  • The merciful
Those who struggle to forgive others or themselves for their past actions, especially those in prison.

  • The pure in heart
Those sorely tempted by adult or child pornography or other forms of sexual impurity, who strive and sometimes fail to remain pure in action.

  • The peacemakers
Those who struggle to find an inner peace for themselves or who strive to establish peace between neighbours or communities and who suffer in their attempts to bring people together.

  • Those who are persecuted in the cause of uprightness
Those who long for justice and equality for all, and especially those who suffer discrimination or rejection (sometimes even from their own church or community) on account of their gender, race, colour or sexual orientation.

  • Those who suffer abuse and persecution for Jesus's sake
Those who suffer for their Christian faith, who are rejected by their community, their society or by fellow Christians but who, despite everything, strive to remain constant in their love of Jesus and the practice of their faith in him.
